Wonderful tour through Aachen with an insight into many small features of the city. Unfortunately, a building site was in the way, so we had to skip a puzzle. However, this was not a major obstacle as there were plenty of other puzzles that were very entertaining.

An exciting tour for everyone! A tour that goes beyond mere discovery and requires logic and patience at one point or another. A good way to immerse yourself in the world of puzzles and get to know a city at the same time. If you get stuck, that’s no problem at all. You can request hints for each puzzle to help you find the solution yourself.
This is what we mean by ‘beginner-friendly puzzles’:
Puzzles that offer a good introduction to the world of puzzles and start with finding, recognising and reading information. In some puzzles, connections and patterns have to be recognised, so patience is required.
Groups with initial puzzle experience need 1.5 – 2 hours for this tour (without a break). If you have less experience, you should allow a little more time. In addition to the main storyline, there is plenty of time to explore Aachen, so the tour can be longer depending on your interests.
The tour mainly takes you through Aachen’s city centre, so you can stop for breaks and refreshments at any time.
The distance to be walked is 1.2 kilometres and is exclusively in traffic-free or traffic-calmed areas. The route is free of steps, but leads over long stretches of cobblestones.
We recommend up to 5 players per team. However, the tour can also be played with more or fewer people.
Story
The citizens of Aachen are a special people.They are proud of their stories, their legends and fairy tales, the historic city centre and their traditional foods. And they are proud to show these things and bring them to life. Because everyone can become a part of it. The time-honoured Oktagon Association has also set itself this goal. It wants to show tourists, those unfamiliar with the area, as well as new and old Aacheners, what this city is all about. To obtain this information, you have to complete various tasks and prove yourself worthy to the Octagon League. These tasks are so easy, because becoming an honorary citizen of Aachen is not a matter of course.
Instructions
- Book your tour here at aachenquest.de and receive your access code in an e-mail.
- The booked tour can be played within six months.We recommend good weather and daylight.
- Meet at the designated starting point of the puzzle and visit aachenquest.de/play with your smartphone. Here you can enter your access code and start the tour.
- Follow the instructions on your smartphone. If something comes up, you can continue the tour the following day. Your code is valid for 48 hours after activation.
