📍 Starting point: Elisenbrunnen
The starting point is the Elisenbrunnen in the city of Aachen. The address is Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz. The finish is approx. 500 metres from the starting point.

An exciting tour for everyone! A tour that goes beyond mere discovery and requires logic and patience at one point or another. A good way to immerse yourself in the world of puzzles and get to know a city at the same time. If you get stuck, that’s no problem at all. You can request hints for each puzzle to help you find the solution yourself. This is what we mean by ‘beginner-friendly puzzles’: Puzzles that offer a good introduction to the world of puzzles and start with finding, recognising and reading information. In some puzzles, connections and patterns have to be recognised, so patience is required.
🕙 Duration: approx. 1,5h -2h
Groups with initial puzzle experience need 1.5 – 2 hours for this tour (without a break). If you have less experience, you should allow a little more time. In addition to the main storyline, there is plenty of time to explore Aachen, so the tour can be longer depending on your interests.
The tour mainly takes you through Aachen’s city centre, so you can stop for breaks and refreshments at any time.
🏁 Distance: approx. 1,5km
The distance to be walked is 1.5 kilometres and is exclusively in traffic-free or traffic-calmed areas. The route is free of steps, but leads over long stretches of cobblestones.

We recommend up to 5 players per team. However, the tour can also be played with more or fewer people.

The ancient Octagon Alliance has made it its mission to reveal what makes Aachen truly special. Whether you are visiting for the first time, new to the city or a long-time local, the Alliance invites you to discover Aachen from a different perspective.
But this knowledge is not given away freely. To prove yourself worthy, you must solve a series of challenges, uncover hidden details and demonstrate your powers of observation. The tasks will test your curiosity and teamwork, because becoming an honorary citizen of Aachen is something that must be earned.

You can find the available start times above in the “Details” section. During major events in Aachen city centre, parts of the tour may be inaccessible.

Go to the designated starting point of the puzzle tour and open the following website on your smartphone:

Enter your access code and start the tour by pressing the “Open” or “Enter” button on your smartphone keyboard.
4. Have fun and follow the instructions 🥳
Follow the instructions displayed on your smartphone.
If something unexpected comes up, you can continue the tour on the following day. Your code remains valid for 48 hours after activation. Activate the tour by entering “START” in the chat.
